There is a Playable Demo running for ParaMeeter.
It is not intended to be a finished, polished product - instead it is a more-or-less vertical slice that can demonstrate some of the unique features of ParaMeeter.
The demo instances are all invite-only
If you’d like to have a look at the demo, please drop your details in the Contact form and include a note about which of the instances listed below you would like invite codes for.
We are not looking for software stress-testers, pentesters, graphic design critics etc. at this time
The purpose of the demo is to get feedback on the ways that the challenges of federated people-meeting have been solved, and to help develop the way that the unique features are presented to the user.
The user experience will be pretty bad, and that’s kinda by design! We will try to fix things that prevent people from getting the most out of the demo, but will not be accepting bug reports about what colour the buttons are etc.
What the demo allows users to do right now
- Create an account and be guided through a basic embarkation flow to set their accounts up
- Fill their profile with various types of data, and set some controls on who gets to see this data
- Search for other users by specifying criteria such as location, gender identidy, language etc. (the various categories of Fundamental profile element)
- Send chat requests to search matches
- Accept chat requests and enter into conversation with other users
- Report any problematic user-generated content to moderators
- Establish Vouch Links with trusted acquaintances, and see if any given search result has an unbroken Vouch Chain back to you
What the next demo update might include
- An offer of an example of non-dating embarkation flow at signup, in addition to the current default flow
- Improvements to the chat-request-and-creation flow, with better visibility of how each chat partner was found afterwards
- Control over what profile data types are shown for results in each search, with different defaults for each of the 3 major search types
- More use of the Vouch system, e.g. to allow a vouch partner to vouch for a photograph
Some things that are definitely out-of-scope during the demo phase
- Creation of a full catalogue of pick-from-list type profile elements (e.g. Interests, Languages) since this is a large data-organisation project in itself
- Allowing third parties to run instances
- Email notifications
There are 3 instances in this demo universe
These should demonstrate the ability for instances to restrict their served demographic to that of their choosing.
