Phase 0
- Build a “playable demo” of the technology (closed source, all hosted on ParaMeeter’s own service)
- Make a website
If you are reading this, that means that phase 0 is more or less complete.
Phase 1
- Show people the demo
- Show people this website
- Research stuff needed for phase 2
- Try to find support and sponsors
Phase 2
- Build something that we would be happy having real user data in (instances all still under central control for the moment)
Phase 3 - limited trial with real users
- Trials with real users and real data, but limited in number and still on centrally-controlled instances
- Charter? Mission statement? ready for public to see and pick apart
Phase 4 - real release
- Source code ready for release under our chosen license and conditions
- Main org nonprofit is set up and ready to issue licences / franchises to instances
- Instance documentation pack contains everything they need to get up and running (limited juristictions only)
- Main org’s database of user-description fields covers a good cross section of what people want
- Payment processor(s) lined up and ready to handle user subscription fees
- Contract for instances makes sure that user pricing is fair, mods get paid, some funds get kicked back up the chain for development (probably with a threshold for new small instances to get started)
- Legal obligations to handle user data (of all kinds - profile stuff and e.g. IDs that we might keep on file) known and accounted for
Phase 5 - Continuous improvement
- Add support for instances more parts of the world
- Continue to build and manage the user-description field database
etc.
